On To Montreal

I left Britta's at 9:40 this morning and I am now in Montreal with Elena!!
I think Britta and I have managed to hit up just about every main tourist attraction there is in Toronto. That is what it feels like anyways. So where to start....
FRIDAY:
Britta had a class in the morning on Friday so I just hung around her apartment till she got home. While she was at school she just so happened to over hear people talking about something called the CNE. If you have never heard of the CNE before it is pretty much the PNE. There were some pretty cool exhibits on such as The History of Rock. I wasn't allowed to take any pictures of that though. The coolest thing we got to see there was a figure skating show called Rock On Ice. Jamie Sale, David Pelletier and Vaughn Chipeur were all in it and they skated to old rock music. Lots of fun! Then we hit up the shopping. I have never seen such cheap clothes. We started with Stiches and everything there was on sale and then everything was another 50% off that. So we were paying three dollars for shirts and stuff like that. It made my day! After we left there we decided to walk to the subway station.......only it was a wee bit further away then we thought. It was a good walk though...until we got to the Rogers Center and realized there was a game on and people were going to be coming out at any minute and the station was going to be jam packed. Then we started to run. Anyways we finally made it home and then we crashed after that.

There were acrobatics as well in the ice show
SATURDAY:
We decided that Saturday would be a good day for the Toronto Zoo. It was until I learned what a Toronto rain was like. Basically one minute the weather is fine then next you are soaked right through all your clothes and people are running for the nearest shelter. So we had a pretty wet trip to the zoo. After the zoo we went to the CN tower. We waited till it was dark before going up so we could see all the lights of the city. We wandered around there and then had massive desserts in the restaurant that is up there.

SUNDAY:
We ventured to the candy store at 8:30 at night and other then that we did not do much except sit on the couch. It was lovely!!
MONDAY:
This was a pretty crazy day. We had both bought city passes so we decided to use them up this day. It started off with us heading to the Ontario Science Center. We quickly found out that it is meant for kids. Needless to say we did not last to long there. Then we headed to Casa Loma. That is a very cool place to see. It is a huge old house and they give you a...well it looks sort of like a phone and in each room there is a number and when you punch it in you can listen to the history of that room. It is pretty funny when you look around and everyone is walking around with these things up to their ears. The guy had built these secret staircases from his office to different floors of the house and then this huge underground tunnel to get to the stable and garage so they would not have to walk outside and cross the street and stuff. There was also an indoor pool but if I remember correctly it was never actually finished. The main bedrooms were HUGE. The ladies had two walk in closets, a big bathroom, massive sitting area and then another room for the actually bedroom. All of that for one person. I wish! The guys room wasn't quite as big but there were patio doors that opened and he could look out over the main entrance area. Oh and not to the mention the huge library that was in that house. After leaving there we walked over to the ROM, aka the Royal Ontario Museum. We wandered through there for a while looking at all the animals and such before heading off to do a little shopping at some VERY expensive stores!!! After that we headed on home to put our feet up for the night.

Tuesday:
Britta had school all day Tuesday so I spend the day packing and such. I met her at this very cool little burger restaurant down the road for dinner. Tasted just like homemade. Then we stopped at Davids Tea on out way by before heading back home.
WEDNESDAY:
That would be today......So far my days has gone get up and get dressed and then weight the suitcase. Then run downstairs and jump in the cab. Get confused at the Toronto airport and wait forever in the security line. Get on the plane, land in Montreal and hop on a bus..then train and then another bus...walk and and now I am sitting on Elena's couch!

Shop Until You Drop...

I finally have a few pictures to put on here!
So I don't think I have ever walked as much at one time as I did yesterday. Britta was at school most of the day so we decided that I would walk and meet her at the Hard Rock Cafe when she was done. It took me two hours to get there on foot. Thank goodness for taking the subway home!! It was a very cool walk, it went from nice, to grungy, to high rise central (though from the view in Britta's apartment all of Toronto looks like high rise central). Britta lives a block off Yonge street which is the main street that goes all the way through Toronto so all I had to do was walk straight down there to end up in the heart of downtown.
I went shopping in a very fancy Winners and then spent some time in the hugest mall I have ever seen, Eaton Centre. I have decided that the people here must like to shop in big stores because they are all double the size of any i've seen before. The Canadian Tire, MASSIVE, the Forever 21 is two stories and Eaton centre is three stories.
Needless to say when we got home last night all I had the energy for was sitting on the couch and then crawling my way to bed.
I learned a new word the first day I got here, street meat. Steet meat is the hot dogs that are sold on the sidewalk. They don't smell very good and they are everywhere. Guess I will never go hungry here in anycase. Just find some street meat hehe.

This gives you an idea of how far I walked. This
picrture is taken off of Britta's balcony and I
only a couple blocks fromt the CN tower
where I walked to.

Day One~ Toronto

so it's day one.....i'm a wee bit sleepy since I got up at 6:30 which is actually 3:30 in the morning my time. I am learning all about othodontics right now. As in I am sitting in one of Britta's classes....WAY over my head! She is going to be cleaning my teeth later on so they will be nice and white when I get home.
My first impression of the city......lots of light, lots and lots of people and things are open super late. We got off the subway at sometime after eight and there ware still people EVERYWHERE. I think I have gotten a little to used to the only thing open after six is Walmart haha. Oh and I have new appreciation for my truck! In less then 24 hours I have been on two buses and two subways...
I have no pictures for you yet but I will be sure to have some soon!!

Old School

So remember those cameras called polaroids...you could push the shutter button and a second laster you had a picture. Pretty cool huh?? I think so and I have been looking for a polaroid camera for a while now and was starting to think that you couldn't buy them in the stores anymore. Well today I just happened to find one.
This is my wonderful new camera and the picture mom took with it. soooooo cooooolllllll!!!!!
The other day I was having a little fun with moms flowers and photoshop so here is one of the pictures.

And Again?

I think we should all be in shock two posts in a week......

Anyways.....I went for a bike ride today.....up in juniper...by myself....till it started thundering and then I turned around and got back to my truck in time for it to start pouring buckets. Maybe that is a little exaggeration but it was raining! Before it started raining though I took a few pictures so here is the one I liked.

As well the other day my friend Sarah,
This is sarah, and I went for a walk through the park and we came across a little guy I call Mr.Fatty.....
This would be him. He started to walk towards us and we both decided that if he got any closer we were going to run away screaming. He was pretty entertaining to watch!

IT's Only Been A COUPLE Months :)

Guess what.......it's grad season again!!! Ok so maybe it's not that exciting to most of us but this past weekend it was VERY exciting for the Valleyview grads of 2010. They finally got their chance to walk across the stage. I unfortunately had to work that night and missed the ceremonies but I was able to see they all dressed up in their fancy gowns. So here are a few pictures of Bre and her friends.

So How About the big city

Downtown Vancouver on Saturday.......need I say more......ok well just this once I will give the long story :)

Saturday there was an open house at VanArts (Vancouver Institute for media arts in other words) so we left bright and early that morning to check out the digital photography program. It was a very interesting presentation. Found out lots of intesting stuff.....like Clint Eastwood believes in working 9 to 5 and therefore a lot of his movies are done with visual effects. Anways before this presentation we had the lovely oppertunity to wander around the street of downtown. We took a wander around a mall where we looked at a dress that was worth $1300...I found a cool purse that was worth oh something like $300 and and we can't forget the leather gloves that are worth over $100. Last but not least dad thought we should pass on the bathroom renovation for something better.......a watch.......worth $7000. Needless to say we did NOT buy anything in that store. Then while walking back to the school we got to witness a protest. Very fun to watch though we were to far away to figure out what they were protesting. Then for the final event of the evening we drove over to Granville Island and wandered through the public market. We drove home at seven that evening to where the prices are slightly more affordable and you don't get watch thousands of people protest something (though I was invited to a rally on saturday...i'm sure five people will show up hehe)
